Recipe Details:

Ingredients:

Hot dog spice blend:

1 tsp each garlic powder, onion powder, mustard powder, smoked paprika, celery salt

1/2 tsp msg

Wet Brine:

1 cup of buttermilk

1/4 cup pickle juice

1 tsp salt

Half of your hot dog spice blend

Chicken Tenders:

Chicken tenderloins

1 cup AP flour

Neutral frying oil

Toppings:

Yellow mustard

1/2 of small onion, diced

Neon relish

Roma tomato sliced into quarter wedges

Sport peppers

Celery salt

Dill pickle spear

Steamed poppyseed hot dog bun


  1. Brine Preparation:

    • Mix together brine ingredients.

    • Place chicken tenders in brine for 1-24 hours.

  2. Frying:

    • Mix all purpose flour with the remaining hot dog spice blend.

    • Remove chicken from brine and dredge in the flour mixture.

    • Fry in 350°F oil for 3-4 minutes until golden and cooked through.

    • Remove from oil and sprinkle with celery salt.

  3. Build your Dog:

    • Place fried chicken in a bun.

    • Top with yellow mustard, relish, onion, tomato, sport peppers, and pickle.

    • Sprinkle with more celery salt.
